Thanks for the article. I wish this was the TV I have been looking for. I just upgraded to a Hopper home DVR on Saturday. It can connect ever TV in my house to the DVR in HD. I still have a few old Tube sets around the house, and it is time to replace them with HD. I don’t know much about TVs and I am kind of impulsive, so there is a good chance that I might come home with a monster like this. Thankfully, I have a coworker at DISH who knows a ton about TVs; she is going to help me get in and out without getting more than I need, or spending more than I have. Of course, I will be watching for the price to come down on this behemoth.

thanks for the review. Could you please test if Y580 when HDMI out is used, is capable of displaying 3D games and movies on an external 3D capable TV

I have read in the internet contrarian infos about that due to Optimus/IGP output issues.
